BLS BORDEAUX
  • Lessons: 20 general French morning lessons (4 weeks minimum) + 4 to 12 weeks internship with a French company
  • Levels: intermediate to advanced, equivalent at least to level B2 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference (see levels)
  • Course begins: every Monday (see dates)
  • Timetable: 9.30 to 12.45 with a 15 minute break, Monday to Friday
  • Internship: the trainee’s schedule is defined by the host company
  • Duration: minimum 4 weeks general French lessons with no time limit
    + 4 to 12 weeks internship

Programme objectives

Language course: The course aims to develop linguistic skills enabling oral and written communication in French.

Internship: Students are placed in companies working in sectors such as tourism, social work, marketing, advertising, handicrafts, banking, agriculture, etc.

By joining a professional setting that alternates observation and interaction in specific situations, students put what they have learnt into practice, while becoming familiar with everyday life in a French company.

A three-way agreement stating the conditions of the placement is signed by the Director of BLS, the host company and the student.

ENROLMENT To register for a Prolang programme, please send your application at least two months before the in-company placement begins.

When we have received this application, we will send you a questionnaire, which you should return within ten days. BLS will examine your answers to the questions and will accept or refuse your application within 2 weeks.

Please note: applications may be refused for reasons in connection with the following criteria – qualifications and skills, language proficiency, business sectors requested, etc.

General French course - objectives and methodology

  • the practice of spoken French in communicative situations and a cultural approach to the language
  • development of linguistic proficiency (written and oral expression / written and oral comprehension / interpersonal communication)
  • communicative methods combining individual development and group dynamics (group work, role plays, etc.)

Groups

  • single-level groups, 8 to 12* students maximum, ensure easy participation and a true group dynamic as well as individual attention from the teacher
    *Occasionally, this number may be exceeded by 1 or 2 due to an unforeseen student placement
