Bordeaux Theatre and Music

Bordeaux’s cultural centre is the glorious Grand Théâtre, located at the Place de la Comédie. Built in 1780, this magnificent building has been offering theatrical productions for over 200 hundred years. This tradition continues today, with the theatre hosting a busy and diverse performance schedule throughout the year, including opera, classical music, ballet and plays.

Live music is also enjoyed in Bordeaux, with several venues putting on regular shows. From the salsa, bachata and merengue to live electro-jazz, from blues to jazz and even Irish music, there is a venue to suit your every mood

Beyond organising interesting leisure activities, we also help students find out about social and cultural events, how to find accommodation or a job, how to undertake the administrative processes they require for their stay in France (car rental, opening a bank account, joining a sports club, etc.). We also help organise company visits for professionals.

Bordeaux Nightlife

Despite having the reputation as a quiet provincial city, Bordeaux has a lively, vibrant nightlife. Thanks to the influence of Bordeaux’s massive student population, there are many different ways to spend an evening in this city, from a drink at a bar to a night out one of the many nightclubs.

Summer evenings in Bordeaux feature the quayside 'paséo'. Here the people come to stroll and enjoy the fresh air, dine or enjoy a glass of wine on the rejuvenated banks of the Garonne River.

Aficionados of Latino-Cuban or Mexican décor come to rue des Piliers de Tutelle for their first drinks of the evening where 'salsas' and 'mojitos' have replaced the glass of wine.

However if you’re looking for more action after dark, visit the nightclubs and bars of Les Quais or La Victoire. La Victoire is full of bars and is the place to hang with friends or just to enjoy watching a local football match. If you prefer dancing or clubbing, most of the nightclubs are on Les Quais close to the train station. There is a huge selection of clubs offering from rock to disco, dance to techno – catering to whatever mood you’re in! To mingle with the in-crowd, venture to the converted warehouses and floating nightclubs along the trendy Bassins à flot (renovated docks).
